How much does EV charger installation cost in Minneapolis MN?
A standard Level 2 EV charger installation with a short, accessible run from the panel to the garage typically falls between $900 and $1,800 for labor, materials and permit. Longer conduit runs, panel upgrades and outdoor trenching add cost. We give you a fixed price after seeing the panel and the parking location.
Do I need a 200 amp panel to install an EV charger?
Not automatically. Many homes on 100A service can support a 32A or 40A Level 2 charger once the load calculation is run, especially with a smart load management device. If the panel cannot carry the load, we tell you during the estimate and quote the upgrade separately.
How long does a home EV charger installation take?
Most residential installations are completed in a single visit of four to eight hours. That includes running the circuit, mounting the charger, terminating the connections and testing a live charging session. If your install requires a panel upgrade or a long underground run, it may be scheduled across two visits.
Do you install Tesla Wall Connectors in Minneapolis and St. Paul?
Yes. We install the Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connector to Tesla's specification, including the correct breaker size and commissioning through the Tesla app. We also set up power sharing between two Wall Connectors on one circuit if you have two Teslas.
Can I install an EV charger on the outside of my garage?
Yes. Outdoor installations are common across the Twin Cities, especially for driveway parking. We use weather-rated equipment, proper conduit and fittings that hold up through Minnesota winters, freeze-thaw cycles and snow load.
Do you handle the permit and inspection?
Yes. New EV circuits require an electrical permit in Minnesota. We pull the permit with your city — Minneapolis, St. Paul or the surrounding suburbs — schedule the inspection and meet the inspector on site. You do not need to file anything yourself.
What if I already bought a charger?
That is fine. We install customer-supplied equipment regularly. Send us the model number with your call-back request and we will confirm the correct circuit size, breaker and mounting requirements before the visit.
